IL ABLE PRIVACY NOTICE

The Office of the Illinois State Treasurer (“Treasurer’s Office”) and IL ABLE respect your right to privacy and want you to know how we handle your personal information. IL ABLE is administered by the Treasurer’s Office. The Treasurer’s Office and IL ABLE collect personal information, such as name, address, telephone number, Social Security Number, Taxpayer ID, birth date, driver’s license, state-issued I.D., military I.D., disability information, bank information, and email address (collectively, “Personal Information”) from a number of sources, including the following:

  • Information you provide to us on a voluntary basis when you conduct business with IL ABLE, its contractors, agents, or subcontractors whether online, through the mail, by fax, or over the phone;
  • Information received from the Social Security Administration, the Internal Revenue Service, other state or federal programs, or state agencies;
  • Information received from third party payment processors, such as Ugift, to which you have made contributions or withdrawals: and
  • Information about Account Owners that is provided by Authorized Individuals

The terms “Account Owner” and “Authorized Individual” in this Privacy Notice have the meanings assigned to them in the Plan Disclosure Booklet available at www.illinoisable.com.

The Treasurer’s Office’s employees, contractors, agents, and subcontractors access Personal Information only on a need-to-know basis on the understanding that it is confidential business information. The Treasurer’s Office and IL ABLE do not disclose Personal Information to third parties, except with your consent, at your request, with the consent of or at the request of an Authorized Individual, or as authorized to do so by law or by contract.

As a contractor for IL ABLE, Ascensus College Savings Recordkeeping Services, LLC (“Ascensus”) provides program management, recordkeeping, Account processing, and customer service directly to Account Owners and their Authorized Individuals in the IL ABLE plan. Ascensus also manages the IL ABLE online enrollment portion of the IL ABLE website. Fifth Third Bank provides the checking account product in the Checking Account Option offered as one of the Investment Options in the IL ABLE Plan. Fifth Third Bank’s privacy policy can be found in the Plan Disclosure Booklet.

In the event a provision of the Ascensus privacy policy or the Fifth Third Bank privacy policy differs from this IL ABLE Privacy Notice, for the purposes of information provided in connection with the Plan, this IL ABLE Privacy Notice shall prevail.

Web Analytics

The IL ABLE website illinoisable.com may use web analytics services. Such services may include the use of “cookies,” which are files placed on your computer, to help analyze how the website is used. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) may be transmitted to and stored by the Treasurer’s Office or a website analytics services provider for purposes such as evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators, and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Web analytics service providers may also transfer this information to third parties when required to do so by law, or to process the information on the web analytics service provider’s behalf.
